If you’re looking for something fun to do for the day or a few days then you definitely want to check out Kings Island! There’s so much to do there that even after two whole days there this summer, we still haven’t seen or done it all! With two parks for the price of one it’s an excellent value that is well worth spending a weekend to explore and have fun.
Personally my favorite part of going to Kings Island is how much fun it is for the kids. As you can see from their faces they were super excited!
Kings Island is not only my favorite Ohio theme park but the best bang for your buck. You get two parks for the price of one, the main park and Soak City Waterpark. We loved the added value of the waterpark and on a 90 degree day it was what saved our visit. We spent 90% of our day in Planet Snoopy and Soak City Waterpark.
The littles loved Breakers Bay so that’s where the ladies of the family spent most of their time, with the littles. Breakers Bay is your typical wave pool where the waves cycle from being on for so many minutes and then off for a set amount of time.
The guys did check out Mondo Monsoon. Mondo Monsoon is a four person ride which swings your raft around a dark curve before you free-fall into a funnel. A curtain of water comes down on riders both at the beginning and end of the ride. There was so much more to Soak City Waterpark that we just did not have time to explore. We will definitely be going back!
Oh, one of the things that I absolutely loved about the waterpark is they provide lifejackets to use at no charge! Something I didn’t love is how hard it was to find a place to park a stroller or locate a lawn chair but that was just a small nuisance. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the waterpark because I don’t have a waterproof camera. Next time!
The petting zoo was new to us since it wasn’t open on our last visit. It was a favorite for Isaiah but not so much with Zayden since he’s not a fan of animals yet.
If you have littles they are going to love Planet Snoopy. Planet Snoopy is a 15-time Golden Ticket Award winner for best kids area! I have been to several other amusement parks and I can honestly say I see why. One of the things I noticed and appreciated is that even though the park was busy the day we visited, the wait times for rides was reasonable. When you have kids who are excited and active this is a huge bonus.
Make sure you end your day by watching the Kings Island fireworks! They are beautiful and such a fun way to end your day. My favorite place to watch them is at the main gate, by the fountains. A really nice supervisor who stopped to talk with us mentioned that the Eiffel Tower is a great place to watch them as well.
