Does your family celebrate the holiday season by giving gifts? If so are you all prepared? We are sadly still running around trying to pull it all together. One of my favorite traditions and my kids favorite traditions is to give them all new pajamas on Christmas Eve. They always beg for one gift on Christmas Eve knowing that it’s going to be their pajamas. It’s this whole routine we always go through. Most of our children now have their own children and will be creating their own traditions so it may be time for us to pass that tradition onto them, if they choose to continue it.

What are your family traditions?

This is such a busy time of year for us and probably your family as well. This One Pan Supreme Pizza Lasagna will take a little of the stress off of your shoulders as far as what’s for dinner. You can make this ahead, refrigerate and just reheat or you can prep it then refrigerate and cook when you’re going to serve. Let it cook while you wrap presents or take some well deserved down time.

If your family doesn’t like the vegetables then you can substitute something else for them or just remove them all together. When our children were younger we always made one for them with just pepperoni and cheeses. You could also add additional fillings that your family enjoys, like olives, jalapenos, banana peppers and so on.

Ragu has always been one of my favorite, prepared sauces. It has just the right thickness, right balance of tart vs. sweet and is a great time saver!

I never knew that the recipe for Ragu was brought to American from Italy by Assunta Cantisano. It was her family’s recipe. No wonder it’s so good! Her story is actually pretty inspiring in that she made a business from her family’s sauce recipe and became a success in not only a time when women were not accepted or expected in the business world but during the Great Depression. Her sauce has stood the test of time and 80 years later is still here, still delicious!

I’ve included process photos for you, if you find them helpful. If not then scroll to the bottom to find the recipe.
